Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 1, 2026

1. Overview

Portline ("we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. We collect as little as possible: there is no analytics SDK, telemetry, or crash reporting in the app.

2. Data We Collect

  • Email address. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Your email is the only personal detail you provide — we do not ask for a name.
  • Device identifier. A hardware-derived identifier for your Mac, used to bind your license to your device and prevent credential sharing.
  • Subscription info. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan, and status. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
  • Local traffic. The inspector records requests only on your machine, in memory. Nothing is persisted to disk and we never see, log, or transmit it.

3. Public Tunnels

When you enable a public link, traffic is relayed through our servers to your local machine and served on a subdomain we operate (currently *.portline.live). Relay connections are encrypted in transit (TLS) and authenticated with a short-lived, per-user token. We do not inspect, buffer, log, or store the contents of tunneled traffic — it passes through to your machine.

4. How We Use Data

  • To sign you in and operate the Service.
  • To manage your subscription and billing.
  • To communicate with you about your account.
  • To detect and prevent abuse.

5. Service Providers

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the providers needed to run the Service:

  • Stripe — payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Cloudflare — delivery of sign-in code emails.

We may also disclose data when required by law.

6. Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. One-time sign-in codes are short-lived and expire within minutes. You may request deletion of your account at any time.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.

9. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes.
